Don't let the name of the city fool you...Pewee Valley is actually located on a ridge and not a valley. Fun fact. Pewee Valley got its name from a bird. The Eastern Wood Pewee. 2. Wendell Moore Park





Many people looking for homes for sale in Oldham County also want to know where are the closest parks. Wendell Moore Park is definitely one of those parks to visit. A favorite park for many residents in the South Oldham area. Just recently they completed the new and upgraded playground in September 2022. Located only minutes from Oldham County High School. Located off of HWY 22 in Crestwood is the Briar Hill Park. Tucked in between the Orchard Grass neighborhood and the Briar Hill Estates neighborhood. This park has many features. Tennis courts, a playground, volleyball, and also walking trails.

4. Peggy E Baker Park





Another popular playground in Oldham County is Peggy Baker Park. A large park in Crestwood located off of Abbott Ln. Great playgrounds, picnic tables, large gazebo, and baseball fields. This park is approximatley 25 acres in size.

5. Wilborn Park





Found just minutes from downtown La Grange, is Wilborn Park. With 30 acres of water for fishing, a picnic shelter, restrooms and playground equipment. This park was named after former Mayor Raymond Wilborn and his wife, Irene.

6. John T Walsh Park





Another popular spot in Oldham County is located just north of downtown La Grange. Named after a local doctor who served in the army, John T Walsh. Also, home of the North Oldham Little League that has several ball fields in this 12-acre park. About Oldham County Day Parade


Oldham County Day was brought together because of the late Nancy Crass, she was a Project Guild member and resident of La Grange Kentucky. The event started in 1971 and now features over 120 booths. With plenty of entertainment, live music and a large parade backed by community support.


The Oldham County Day Parade features many local organizations, businesses, marching bands, food vendors, artists and more.


After the parade, head over to the Courthouse Square to check out the booths and other live entertainment.


Oldham County Day: Downtown La Grange KY


Celebrated annually in Historic Downtown La Grange KY and held on the third Saturday in July. Oldham County Day is hosted by Project Guild of La Grange to celebrate the local community. You can expect thousands of Oldham County residents to join in on the celebration.


Project Guild chooses an Oldham County Day parade grand marshal by nominations from the community and honors the individual during a luncheon before the day of the parade.
